On June 12, 2026, the Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) voted to initiate further review on the proposed Florida Forever projects noted above. This process includes a project evaluation report to be completed by State agencies and the Florida Natural Areas Inventory. The project evaluation reports will be presented to ARC at the October 9, 2026 meeting for their consideration and vote on whether to add the proposals to the Florida Forever Priority List.
Putnam County representatives are welcome to attend the upcoming regional public hearing scheduled for August 26, 2026 at 3:00 pm in the Putnam County Commission Room located at 2509 Crill Avenue in Palatka, Florida. ARC will take testimony from members of the public regarding the new Florida Forever proposals and any current projects on the Florida Forever Priority List. The meeting agenda will be available on our website seven days before the meeting. The project proposals submitted by the applicant can be accessed via download.
Florida Forever is Florida’s premier conservation and recreation lands acquisition program, a blueprint for conserving Florida’s natural and cultural heritage. Florida Forever is a willing seller program. Lands to be added to the Florida Forever list for acquisition are recommended by ARC as specified in The Florida Forever Act (s. 259.105, Florida Statute).
